Riga, Latvia | Posted on 14.10.2014 Since 2003, the EuroNanoForum biannual series of conferences have grown into the most significant European forum in its field. It serves as an unparalleled platform for discussions amongst scientists, industrialists and policy makers, as well as an exceptional networking opportunity with the key decision makers. Following on from the previous successful events, EuroNanoForum 2015 will be organised in Riga during the Latvian Presidency of the European Council. EuroNanoForum 2015 aims to contribute to strengthening European competitiveness and supporting the renewal of the manufacturing industries. It serves as a place for the global nanotechnology community to discuss the latest research findings, to convey visions for the market impact of nanotechnology and to demonstrate high value-added products at the Nanotech Europe exhibition.
EuroNanoForum 2015 in Riga is supporting the priorities set within Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“We have already proved that Latvian research and education sectors have a great export potential, thus increasing competitiveness and productivity in the manufacturing industry, which is one of the priorities for Latvia at the moment”, Education and Science Minister Ina Druviete said. “Therefore we are happy to support EuroNanoForum 2015 in Riga, with its emphasis on competitiveness and entrepreneurial capacity of the industry, promoting investment into new products and services, as well as initiatives related to research and innovation”, said the minister.
The event’s programme builds on the agendas set by previous conferences and will give an outlook to European and global developments, trends and innovation demands in the nanotechnologies and advanced materials industries. The leitmotif of the conference is the support of a European manufacturing renaissance through industrial nanotechnology and advanced materials.
Plenaries, sessions and workshops will focus on advanced materials and new production technologies within industries such as the chemical, automotive, healthcare and energy. “Latvian Saiets” – within the frameworks of the Nanotech Europe 2015 exhibition - will display excellent Latvian research results and innovative companies. Furthermore, representatives of industry, SMEs, investors and policymakers, at regional, member state and transnational levels, will debate over framework topics ranging from education to entrepreneurship.
Noteworthy, the participants to EuroNanoForum 2015 will also get a first-hand knowledge of the initial activities launched under Horizon 2020 and hear expert insight for the coming calls, within the sessions on finance and funding through European and national programs, smart specialisation and public-private partnership initiatives.
